Handheld Game Console

This is a custom handheld game console created with an old smartphone.  The phone is running Android but has been altered to remove all unnecessary background applications and acts as a kiosk for Daijisho, a front end menu system for Retroarch.  Since I didn't have bluetooth capable controls that I could bake into the system, I settled for using a bluetooth gaming controller I already had that can be popped in and out of the case as needed, allowing me to continue using it with other systems as well.  The case itself is 3D printed specifically to enclose the old phone and hold the controller together, and it offers access to volume and power buttons as well as the USB charging port and headphone jack.  Currently I am running a collection of NES and Gameboy games.

Desktop Skittles Kit

This is a desktop version of a vintage Skittles game.  It was made with a combination of laser cut plywood and 3D printed brackets and game pieces.  Each pin is marked with its location on the board as well as with its score, with the closest pins scoring 10 points each and the farthest pins scoring 40 points.

To play, the top is wrapped with string and placed in the top start slot at the front of the game.  When the string is pulled, the top spins and moves around the board in an unpredictable manner, knocking down pins and scoring points.

If you want to make your own, you can find all the part files I used including instructions and a purchase list on my Thingiverse page here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7398994

Turned Honey Dipper

Had some scrap basswood lying around and wanted to test out my new mini lathe.  It worked great and I was very happy with the results.  Finished with 600 grit sandpaper and butcher block oil.  Looking forward to doing more small turning projects in the future.

Desktop Skatter Ball

This is a desktop recreation of a game I remember playing when I was little and my parents and I would visit Circus Circus in Las Vegas.  It was designed and built from scratch using reference photos from the original game.

I designed the game to be easily reproduceable with tools you might find in your typical library makerspace, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and vinyl cutters. Below is a link to my Thingiverse page which will allow you to download all the digital files, a detailed hardware parts list, as well as instructions.

Sublimation Fun

Experimenting with the new sublimation printer we have at work, I made an extra-large ketchup packet pillow, as well as this mug themed from the Namco Quick and Crash arcade game.  The sublimation printer uses a special kind of infuse-able ink, which bonds to polyester fabrics as well as anything that has been treated with a sublimation ready coating, like the mug.

You can find an editable SVG and PNG graphics to make your own mug here!

Stamp Holder

Small compartment for a scavenger hunt designed to hold a small rubber stamp outside.

The lid uses two #4 1/2" flat head screws as a hinge.

The design aims to reduce the amount of water or other debris that can get inside while still allowing easy access via the front swinging door.  Includes drainage holes in the bottom, two passthrough holes in the back for use with zip ties, and an inset slot in the lid for laminated signage to be displayed.

Bally Signal Mini Pinball Machine

This is a miniature recreation of a 1934 Bally Signal Pinball Machine.  It uses 14mm glass balls and comes in at about 26 inches long by 13 inches wide.

To download a zip file that includes all the 3D printed parts, DXFs for cabinet parts, construction reference photos, parts list, wiring diagram, art stencils, and exploded view of the entire machine, visit: Mini 1934 Bally Signal Pinball by legochuck - Thingiverse

While I have not created step by step instructions, everything I used to create the machine is on the Thingiverse page and should be accessible should you wish to create your own.  I've also included a step file of the entire assembly so you can bring it into your CAD program of choice to assist with assembly.

I don't have any plans to create a more detailed instruction manual at this time, but please let me know if you have any questions, as I'm more than happy to try to clarify things in my files.  Hope that this can be useful to you.
